Novak: Russia redirects 20% of oil supplies from Europe to Asia

MOSCOW, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- Russia has redirected about 20% of its oil exports from Europe to Asia, and exports of natural gas to Asia grew as well, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said during a forum on Wednesday.

“The energy that we earlier supplied to Europe … were redirected to new markets to a significant degree. Speaking of oil, we redirected about 20% of the volumes that we previously supplied to Europe to other markets. I mean India, China, and other countries,” he said.

“Speaking of gas, we reduced the amount of supplies here and redirected some of it to Asia as well. In particular, exports to China grew by about 50% last year.”
